Belfast City Airport is a short haul airport serving destinations mainly in the UK and Ireland. There is a Conference Suite at the airport which can be booked for meetings.
It is 2 miles from the city centre and was renamed in 2006 in honour of the late George Best. Not to be confused with Belfast International Airport.
If you need to travel into the centre of Belfast, a shuttle bus will take you to Sydenham Railway Station. From there there is a twice hourly service to Central and Victoria Stations. The service operates between 6 am and 11 pm during the week and less frequently on Sundays.
There is a coach service running every 20 minutes between 5.30 am and 10.05 pm from outside the airport to the bus station opposite the Europa Hotel, in the centre of the city. There are buses running to City Hall from Sydenham Train Station.
Top tip: A taxi to the city centre will only cost about £8, so if there are a couple of you it might work out more or less the same price as taking a bus or train.
The airport has a short stay car park which is suitable for those collecting and dropping off passengers. It’s the first car park on the right hand side when you enter the airport grounds, a few minutes from the terminal building. Passengers leaving their car for longer than a day will find it cheaper to use the Executive Car Park, which is located right outside the main terminal. Places are extremely limited and must be booked in advance. The long stay car park is a bit further away, but is less expensive. It takes 5 minutes to walk to the terminal from the long stay car park. There is also a courtesy bus, which circulates every 15 minutes.
The prices for car parking at Belfast City are quite expensive for a regional airport. You can save money by pre-booking your space online. There aren’t any off site car parks at the moment. An alternative option would be to get a taxi from the city centre, which could end up costing less.
