Birmingham Airport is the Midlands’ gateway to the world. It has services flying to over 100 destinations and benefits from its location in the middle of England. It is 8 miles to the east of Birmingham city centre.
The airport is served by a network of local buses to nearby towns and cities, which run from early in the morning until late in the evening, but there are no overnight services. The train station for the airport is 500 metres from the terminal and there is a free skyrail to take you there in 90 seconds. During the day, there are 9 trains a day to Birmingham New Street and 7 to Coventry, but the services are less frequent in the evening.
Top tip: The airport is adjacent to the National Exhibition Centre (NEC). It can also be accessed by taking the skyrail to the train station. The NEC is connected to the station with a covered walkway.
There is a Drop & Go car park adjacent to the terminals, suitable for very short stays and priced per 15 minutes. You can also use Long Stay car park 1 for dropping off passengers, making use of 15 minutes’ free parking. From there it is a short walk or journey on the courtesy bus to the terminal.
Those picking up passengers can use the multi-story Short & Medium Stay car parks 1, 2 or 3, which are just across the road from the terminals. These are also suitable for passengers jetting off on day trips and weekend breaks.
The cheapest on site parking is found in the Long Stay car parks. This can be as little as £3 per day if you pre-book online.
There are several off site car parks near Birmingham Airport. Some offer a park and ride service, where you drop your car at the facility and take a courtesy bus to the airport. Others offer a valet parking service, where your car is collected at the terminal building, driven to an off site facility and then brought back for you on your return.
