Cardiff Airport is located in the village of Rhoose, 12 miles west of the centre of the capital city of Wales. It offers both international and domestic flights.
Rhoose Cardiff International Airport Train Station is a short distance from the terminal. There is a shuttle bus which connects with all train services and takes passengers to and from the airport; this is free for passengers with a valid rail ticket. There is an hourly train service to Cardiff and Bridgend, running between about 6 am and 11 pm, Monday to Saturday. Services are once every two hours on a Sunday.
There is also an hourly bus service which takes passengers from the airport to the centre of Cardiff. This takes 35 minutes during the day, and there are also bus services in the evening. A taxi to the centre of Cardiff will cost about £26. There are car parks on site for those driving to the airport.
The Short Stay car park is suitable for collecting and dropping off passengers, and for stays of up to 4 days. There is a fast track lane where you can stay free of charge for 20 minutes. This car park is a short walk from the entrance to the terminal. There are also 2 Long Stay car parks which can be pre-booked, with discounted rates. These are further away from the terminal and a shuttle bus operates 24 hours a day to take passengers to and from the building.
Prices at the on site car parks are on the high side. There are two off site car parks near Cardiff Airport – Cardiff Airparks and the Cardiff Highwayman – so it’s worth getting a quote from them as well. They also offer courtesy transport to the terminal.
