Originally the city's airport building was famously thronged with Beatles fans in the 1960's - the Crowne Plaza John Lennon Aiport (formerly Liverpool Marriott Hotel South) is now one of the finest and most exciting hotels in the Northwest of England.
The rooms are all of an excellent standard as befits a hotel of this calibre. They are medium in size and in very good condition indeed. They offer ensuite bathroom, TV, Direct dial telephone, Modem point, Iron/ironing board and trouser press, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities, work desk and 24-hour room service.
The Starways is a modern, warm-hued restaurant furnished with bright fabrics and dark wood. It offers an eclectic menu and views of the Mersey River and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The lobby is modern and very smart.
The hotel has been tastefully converted from a 19th century listed building. It is stunning to look at inside and out, with the fabulous Grade II listed art deco architecture and very stylish contemporary surroundings.
One of the finest hotels in the North West, the Crowne Plaza is ideal for John Lennon Airport and is only six miles from the city centre. Guests can also work out in the gym, take a dip in the indoor pool, or unwind in the sauna and hot tub. There is also a free airport shuttle service. (GW 08/2008)
