Edinburgh Airport parking, directions, transfers | EDI airport guide

The airport in Scotland’s capital city serves over 100 destinations worldwide.  It is the busiest airport in the country and lies about 8 miles to the west of Edinburgh.

The airport does not have a train station nearby.  However, there is a 24 hour bus service to and from the stations in the centre of Edinburgh, taking about half an hour.  They run every 10 minutes during the day and every half hour at night.  There are also local buses which take passengers to other parts of Edinburgh during the day.

Many passengers using Edinburgh Airport arrive by car, and you can find several parking options at the airport.

Edinburgh Airport Parking

For short stay parking of up to 2 hours you can use the Pick up/2 Hours Max car park.  This has its own entrance and exit for speed and costs the same as the Short Stay car park, except if you go over 3 hours.  The main Short Stay car park is a brief walk from the terminal.  It’s suitable for stays of a few hours or short trips.  The Long Stay car parks are a cheaper option.  Long Stay Edinburgh is a 5 minute courtesy coach journey from the terminal.  Buses run every 10 minutes.  NCP Scotpark Edinburgh is 4-5 minutes away by courtesy coach, which runs every 7-10 minutes.  Both have 24 hour staffing, regular patrols, security fencing and CCTV.  Both Short and Long Stay parking can be pre-booked online.  If you want to be as close as possible to the terminal and don’t mind paying a premium you can book the fastTRACK service.  This lets you park in dedicated bays which are just a one minute walk from check-in.  Booking in advance online will get you the lowest rate for this service.

There are several off site car parks near Edinburgh Airport.  Some offer courtesy transport to and from the terminal, and others offer a meet and greet service.  This means a driver meets you at the airport to collect your car and brings it back for you on your return.

Flying Scot Car Parks

This company has two large car parks, offering either short stay or longer, beside the main terminal building.  They are fully secured with CCTV, fencing, floodlights and 24 hour guard dog patrol.  Flying Scot Parking - 13 Fairview Road, EH28 8NB and Lowcost Airport Parking - 3 Eastfield Road, EN28 8LS both have 24 hour courtesy buses between the car parks and the terminal and transfer time is only 1 to 2 minutes.
