Southampton Airport is located about 4 miles outside the city centre. It links the south coast of England with over 40 destinations in the UK and Europe. It will celebrate a centenary of flight in 2010 with a range of special events.
The airport has its own train station, with a direct service to London Waterloo, taking just over an hour. Other services connect the airport with destinations across the south of England and south Wales. Southampton Central is 8 minutes away. There are also 2 local bus services to the centre of the city, but these take about 40 minutes. Coaches to national destinations can be caught at the city centre bus terminal.
If you’re coming by car there are a number of parking options.
The Short Stay car park is adjacent to the terminal. The first 10 minutes are free and the car park is intended for stays of up to 24 hours. The Long Stay car park is a 5 minute transfer journey away from the terminal. The shuttle runs every 5-10 minutes. This car park has 24 hour staffing, frequent patrols and CCTV coverage. It has been given the Secured Car Park Award. It is quite reasonably priced and you can save money by booking in advance.
There is also one off-site car park, which offers courtesy transport to the terminal.
